It removes all kinds of sins and makes one famous and learned &blesses one with son Ekadashi after full moon is called Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha and Ekadashi after Amavasya is called Ekadashi of Shukla paksh.

Ekadashi tithi ends: 7 January 2020 till 4:00 in the morning

Rules of fasting
Do not take food after sunset on Dashami and meditate on Lord Vishnu before sleeping at night
On the day of fasting, one should bathe by adding Ganga water in water.
Consumption of meat, garlic, onion and lentils is prohibited on Dashami and Ekadashi.
Full celibacy should be practiced at night and stay away from indulgence.
Do not consume carrots, turnips, cabbage and spinach on Ekadashi.
